Was more myself with you than I’d ever been, opened up in ways before never seen.
Gave you all the love I had, hoping for the same.
But we were not right with ourselves,
Onto a losing game.
Life taught me to accept much less,
Hoped in my giving to get the best.
In some ways I guess that’s what I got, the greatest lesson my life ever taught.
It tore me down to the very core, made me search for the answers why I wasn’t getting more.
Broken love, that’s what we had
We tried but in the end it all went bad
We shared closeness in experience of past pain,
But ended out just giving each other more of the same.
